Come be inspired by the Garden, as Art Center South Florida presents a series of drawing and painting classes at the beginner/intermediate level with instructor Ariel Baron-Robbins. Classes outdoors in the landscape focus on flora and fauna with demonstrations on how to draw accurately from life and how to use watercolor and ink media. Learn the history of floral painting, ranging from Buddhist ink drawings to the Impressionists to contemporary artists and create your own unique artworks. Register online here.

Designed for boys and girls ages 5 to 12 to engage in entertaining and educational arts, crafts, dance, music, and games. Rana Rojo Fashion Show
To celebrate Swim Week 2013, Designers Ash Rana and Damien Rojo will present their new line, La Lucha, Saturday at the Garden. July 26th and 29th
Miami Performance and Visual Art Festival
The Garden hosts artists from around the world highlighting a large range of artistic practices and styles, while providing lectures, discussion groups, and workshops on art. This free festival acts as a catalyst for cross-pollination of ideas and the creation of think tanks where thoughts can be exchanged and shared. Presented by Edge Zones, an art program that provides opportunities and resources for under-recognized artists in the Caribbean area. Come visit the garden to experience two days of performance installations on the 26th, and 29th. The 29th will also be the date for a free children and student workshop, as well as a free picnic at 5 p.m.!

Padma Fertility Festival

The Sanskrit word “padma” means “lotus”, traditionally a symbol for consciousness, as the beautiful flower grows from the muddy waters, blossoming into the light of its own awareness. The Padma Fertility Festival honors the flowering of life upon Earth with organic food, dancing in the oriental, belly, and Afro-Cuban styles, henna tattoo artist, open-mic poetry, a drum circle, a seed planting ceremony, yoga, flower wreathing,artisan crafts, and much more. Proceeds support La Luchi Foundation, providing healthcare to urban youth, and to CAMTRA, a Brazilian women’s rights organization. $10 entrance fee, $5 with instrument. Children are free.

Join the Garden Board of Directors, staff and friends in a celebration of Executive Director Laura Jamieson's retirement and her decade of achievements including completion of a $1.2 Million landscape renovation in 2011, bringing the garden to prominence as a cultural venue, attaining fiscal stability, developing a dynamic annual schedule of environmental education and arts programs, promoting the Garden as a rental venue for social and corporate occasions and making many friends along the way.

The Good, the Bad and the Ugly Bugs in Your YardDid you just spray an endangered Miami blue butterfly larva (Cyclargus thomasi bethunebakeri) with Raid®??? Join Miami Dade County Extension Agent Adrian Hunsberger as she describes the different insects in your garden and how to control them using organic methods. Hunsberger has a bachelor’s in horticulture from Virginia Tech and a master’s in entomology from University of Florida. She specializes in urban horticulture and writes for the Miami Herald. Round Robin Peacock Poetry Reading
Join artist Cara Nusinov, creator of the Poetry Peacock statue roosting here at the Garden, for a poetry reading and open recital. The event will begin with readings of poems written on the peacock, and will then open to the public. Bring your own poems, or those of your favorite poets to share with everyone. The poems on the peacock are written by both renowned and emerging poets from all over the world, and Nusinov’s concept creates a work of art available to everyone that encourages people to gather together, discover, and discuss the poems and their meanings.

Outdoor Gyrokinesis® Class 
The Garden begins a weekly gyrokinesis class presented by Mari Kasich, owner of the Miami Beach Gyrotonic® Studio on Washington Avenue. A gentle, fluid movement and breathing modality that feels like a massage, gyrokinesis is a healthy workout for the spine, and a strengthening exercise for joints. It starts in a seated position on a chair, and moves into seated, kneeling and standing positions on the floor. This group class can be an energizing way to wind down your day or start up your night.
